Car hire fail.  Travelling home for pre Xmas celebrations should not be so fraught with dangers but SH and I found ourselves facing all of the elements.  A normally picturesque A to B route found us battling the snow, surviving a bumper bump slide into the back of a lorry (bye bye car hire deposit), head-on 80mph winds and a few more than desired Welcome Break stops (Burger King doesn’t count as a welcome break FYI).  So as far as I’m concerned, we’ve survived more than our fair share of the stresses of Christmas.

However, it was all worth it in the end.  A brief 3 night visit to meet my new niece Rosie, and watch my nephews open their presents will tide me over until next time.

Now the final countdown to our own orphan Christmas at Rothesay Mews!  17 DAYS!
